Park and Ride Monthly Workers Permit

Following our recent amendment to our Off-Street Parking Places order we have introduced a Monthly Permit for use in our Dartmouth Park and Ride Car Park, specifically available to people who are working within Dartmouth.

This permit will entitle the holder to park a designated vehicle 24/7 within the Dartmouth Park and Ride car park on the outskirts of Dartmouth Town, exempting the permit holder from needing to purchase a parking ticket each day.

Applying for a Permit

The Permit costs £57 and is valid for one month at a time.

The easiest way to apply for the Permit is online through our Permit Portal:

Visit the Permit Portal

As part of the application process, you will need to state the Vehicle Registration (VRN) of the vehicle you are parking.

You will also need to supply proof of employment within Dartmouth.

This must be an official document such as a recent payslip, signed offer or employment, and will be required for every application and renewal.

Once your application has been received and reviewed, if successful a physical permit will then be sent out to you to display within your vehicle.

The Park and Ride Bus

The Park and Ride car park is approximately 1.5 miles on foot from the centre of Dartmouth.

On days when our designated Park and Ride Bus service is operational, as a permit holder you will also have free access to the bus service with your Park and Ride Monthly Workers Permit.

You can find information on the Park and Ride Bus Service and its schedule on our website here:

Park and Ride bus service

Stagecoach’s service 92 on-street bus service is in operation year-round and will pull into the Park and Ride car park on dates when the Park and Ride Bus is not running.

Permit holders will need to separately purchase an individual ticket from the driver on the 92 bus if they wish to access this service. The timetable for the 92 Bus can be found here.

Park and Ride Business Permits

If you are a local business and are looking for a permit that can be moved between your fleet, or swapped between your staff members, you may be interested instead in applying for our Park and Ride Business Permit

  • An Individual Area Business Permit is a paper permit that must be displayed in the windscreen of a vehicle.
  • The permit can be sold to named businesses rather than issued to an individual vehicle registration. This would allow you to transfer the permit between vehicles.
  • Parking permits may not be sold onto or rented out to a third party by the Parking Permit Holder at the intended or increased price under any circumstances.
  • Permits are non-refundable.

The Annual Park and Ride Business Permit costs £555 for the year, and similarly to the Workers Permit provides free bus travel on days when the dedicated Park and Ride Bus is running.

We also offer a Roaming Business Permit that allows the permit holder to display a permit within any vehicle and park the vehicle in various long-stay Car Parks across the whole South Hams District.
