How to access the parking discount

You can access the parking discount via the PayByPhone app and by cash.

Paying by PayByPhone

To access your resident discount through the PayByPhone app, please follow these simple steps: 

  1. Enter the location code and select your vehicle. This will bring you to the following page:
    An example screenshot of the PayByPhone app. You will see 'Resident discount and when it expires. This demonstrates a successful application. For the purpose of demonstration, one hour has been selected at a charge of £1.50. Below this is the standard car park tariff without the discount applied
     
  2. Select the length of stay you require and click “NEXT”
    This screenshot shows that the total cost for the 1 hour tariff has been automatically reduces from £1.50 to £1.00 in line with the residents discount tariff.
     
  3. Click “PAY & PARK” to confirm your session. 

Please note that you will not be able to view your discount on the PayByPhone app until 1 April 2025.

Paying by cash

If you choose to pay by cash, 30 minutes of free parking will automatically be added to the expiry time on your pay and display ticket. This will be added from 1 April 2025. 

The 30 minutes of free parking does not permit you to exceed the maximum stay of our short stay car parks.
