South Hams Community Awards
Nominations for the South Hams Community Awards 2025 are now live.
The South Hams Community Awards are designed to celebrate and shine a deserved light on the individuals, groups and organisations who make an outstanding contribution to our South Hams communities.
The Awards will be given to an individual, group or organisation who has made an outstanding contribution in their community.
An individual can include a person temporarily living away from the District but whose main place of residence remains in the South Hams.
What awards are presented?
There are four awards:
- Young Persons Award (under 18)
- Community Champion Award (over 18)
- Community Organisation Award
- Climate and Biodiversity Champion

| Young Persons |
The nominee should be: ✔ a person under the age of 18 (at the time of nomination) and ✔ who has done something particularly noteworthy in the District |
| Community Champion |
The nominee should be: ✔ a person over the age of 18 and ✔ who has done something particularly noteworthy in the District |
| Community Organisation |
The nominee should be: ✔ an organisation or community group who has done something particularly noteworthy in the District |
| Climate and Biodiversity Champion |
The nominee should be: ✔ a person (no age restriction) who has done something particularly noteworthy on the theme of the natural environment or climate |
How can I nominate someone?
Nominations run for 4 weeks from Monday 13 January 2025 to Sunday 9 February 2025. You can nominate someone using the link at the bottom of the page.
Guidance for nominations
Some fields are marked as mandatory and must be completed to submit the form. Other fields can be left blank if you do not know the information.
A panel will review all nominations. Please supply 2 to 3 paragraphs outlining the reasons for your nomination to help the panel understand the positive impact on your community.
Please note that without either an email or telephone number we may be unable to contact those nominated in the event they are chosen by the panel. Please double check any information supplied before submitting.
