Vacating a Unit

Please complete the online vacation form at the bottom of this page if you wish to give notice on your unit / office.

Once you have given notice this date will need to be confirmed by an Estates Officer.
Please note the following important information about vacating one of our commercial properties or units.

  • You will be required to carry out any obligations under your lease prior to your vacation which may include repairs, decoration and removal of mezzanines and any other structural changes.
  • A site visit will be arranged to inspect the property and ensure the present condition complies with the lease.
  • Once the terms of the lease have been adhered to and your account is up to date, your rent deposit will be returned to you (if applicable).
  • On the date your tenancy ends you must provide vacant possession of the unit or your notice will be invalid and your lease will continue.
  • To give notice you will have to comply with the Notice Requirements of your lease.
  • If you do not have termination rights within the terms of the lease, the Council reserves the right to mutually agree a surrender but is under no obligation to do so, if this is the case, please contact the Estates Team to discuss.
  • Upon vacation of the unit, we will require proof of meter readings and confirmation the utility account has been closed.
  • Under the terms of your lease exercising a break clause will not be valid if there is a material breach of the lease.
    • In particular all rent or service charge arrears on the account must be brought up to date prior to exercise of a break notice.

Completing this form is not confirmation of your vacation date.
