Housing

• Median average property prices of £294,000 in 2022, increasing by 12.8% from £260,500 in 2021. 
• 6.5% of homes are 1 bedroom properties, 20.2% are 2 bedrooms, 43.2% are 3 bedrooms, 30.1% are 4 or more (which is higher than the 21.1% average for England and Wales). 
• Occupancy ratings for bedrooms: 
  • 48.2% have 2 or more spare bedrooms, 
  • 32.1% have 1 spare bedroom, 
  • 18.6% have the correct number of bedrooms for their household need, 
  • 1% are lacking 1 bedroom, and
  • 0.1% are lacking 2 bedrooms.

Renting in Ivybridge

• Average 2 bed rental prices of £775 per calendar month between 2020 and 2022 (median). 
• The maximum Local Housing Allowance is £583.40 per month for a 2 bed property 
• In the PL21 postcode area, there has been a 0.5% increase in demand for rental properties, whilst there has been a 9.1% decreased in number of available listings, in the period between Oct 22 and Oct 23. 
• In the same period, there has been a 3.5% decrease in the asking price on Rental Properties in the PL21 postcode area.

• The average income of households registered with Devon Home Choice with a local connection to Ivybridge is £15,000 annually (median).

Manor Primary School

• Manor Primary School provides for children aged 2 years until 11 years. 
• The number of children enrolled at the school has fluctuated in recent years and remained less than the school’s capacity of 308 pupils. 
• The percentage of children eligible for Free School Meals has also increased. This is an indicator of income and affordability of essential provisions
