Information for voters regarding the upcoming Devon County Council election on Thursday 1 May 2025.

The last day to register to vote at this election is Friday 11 April.

If you will be away from home on polling day you can apply for an absent vote.  

Postal vote applications must be received by 5 p.m. Monday 14 April.

If you apply for a postal vote, please bear in mind that postal ballots will be sent out on Wednesday 16 April. However, if you apply after the 24 March your postal vote may not be posted until 22 April. If you are concerned that you will be away when your postal ballot is delivered you may wish to appoint a proxy instead. A proxy is a person you appoint to vote on your behalf. 

Any changes to current postal or proxy vote arrangements must be made by 5 p.m. Monday 14 April. 

Proxy vote applications must be received by 5 p.m. Wednesday 23 April.

All electors at the polling station are required to show original copies of their photographic ID before they can be issued with a ballot paper.
