Notice of Decision - Off Street Parking Places Order 2022

NOTICE is hereby given that on 17 May 2022 South Hams District Council ("the Council") in exercise of its powers under section 32, 33 and 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the 1984 Act") and any other enabling powers made the above Order:

The Order will come into operation on 31 May 2022.

The effect of the Order is to make the South Hams District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022:

  • Apply no parking at Dartmouth Market Square between 6am and 9am Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
  • Introduce no parking restrictions along the access road to Quayside Leisure Centre.
  • To replace reference to The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (England) General Regulations 2007 and The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (Guidelines of Level of Charges)(England) Order 2007 to The Civil Enforcement of Road Traffic Contraventions (Approved Devices, Charging Guidelines and General Provisions)(England) Regulations 2022.
  • All previous Parking Orders are revoked and a new South Hams District Council Off Street Parking Places Order 2022 is made.

Due to reasons connected to the effects of coronavirus, the Council has made a copy of the Order and amendments available for public inspection on the Council's website at www.southhams.gov.uk.  Alternatively, if you require a copy to be sent to you please call the Council on 01803 861234 or email a request to Parking@swdevon.gov.uk.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or of any Regulations made under the Act has not been complied with may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made apply for that purpose to the High Court.
