The pool at Meadowlands will take a little longer to bring back on line, due to the length of time it has been closed. But users will be notified as soon as Fusion have a confirmed date when the pool will be up and running.
In addition, the pool at Quayside Leisure Centre will open on 7th October. These openings join the already open Parklands in Okehampton, Ivybridge Leisure Centre and Totnes Leisure Centre, to provide access to a broad range of leisure facilities within the area.
The centres will be operating in line with new government guidelines and those planning to visit will be required to book and pay online, minimising contact required at the centre and allowing for the track and trace process to be implemented. Gym users will be asked to arrive ready to work out, ready to go. The new measures, combined with meticulous cleaning routines, are designed to keep customers safe and offer complete confidence to use the facilities when they return to the centres.
Fusion Lifestyle has been working closely with South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council to deliver the safe, phased, reopening of centres with the aim of delivering accessible leisure facilities for everyone in the area.
Anthony Cawley, Director of Operations at Fusion said,"We know our leisure facilities are really important for the health and wellbeing of the local community and we are really pleased that we are able to announce the opening of some of our facilities in a safe and viable way. We look forward to bringing you news of more openings soon."
Cllr Jonathan Hawkins, South Hams District Council's Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing said: "By supporting Fusion through this difficult time, we have been able to provide our District with community assets that are valued by a broad range of the community. Not many people realise that Fusion is a registered Charity, they do not have stakeholders. Any profit is invested back into health and wellbeing facilities for the communities they serve."
Cllr Tony Leech West Devon Borough Council's Lead Member for Health and Wellbeing said:"Having a date for Meadowlands to open again is very good news, and especially for those who have used it in the past. It is a brilliant facility, and we are hoping that as many people as possible will take the opportunity to start to use all of the facilities it provides. Having both Parklands in Okehampton and Meadowlands in Tavistock open, could also be a boost to our overall economy and provide our residents with the first class Health and Wellbeing services that they require".
Bookings can be made up to seven days in advance by downloading the Fusion Lifestyle app or by visiting the centre websites to register and use the booking facility.
