Devon County Council has 60 councillors elected to make decisions about county-wide issues (such as education and social services). 

South Hams District Council will be responsible for organising and administering the election of one Councillor for each of the seven County Divisions which fall within the South Hams District Council boundary.

These Divisions are:

  • Bickleigh and Wembury
  • Dartmouth and Marldon
  • Ivybridge
  • Kingsbridge
  • Salcombe
  • South Brent and Yealmpton
  • Totnes and Dartington

Have you registered to vote?

If you are not on the register of electors, you cannot vote in elections. If you have not yet registered, you have until midnight on Thursday 13 April 2017 to register to vote for this election. The easiest way to register is online at GOV.UK - Register to vote. You will need your National Insurance number and date of birth in order to register.

Application for a postal or proxy vote

Completed applications for postal votes must be completed and returned by 5 p.m. on Tuesday 18 April 2017.
