Protected Trees

The Council has a duty to protect trees that have significant public amenity value. There are five types of tree protection.

Tree Preservation Orders

Trees, Copses and Woodlands of significant public amenity value can be protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) which are served and enforced by the Council.
