At a meeting of the South Hams Executive on 16 September Councillors received an update on the waste and recycling situation in South Hams and have reluctantly agreed to keep the suspension of garden waste in place. The Executive will review the situation when they meet again on 14 October.

Full Council

Full Council meetings consist of all 31 District Councillors.

Executive (Exec)

The Executive meets regularly to discuss key issues and make recommendations to Full Council.

Overview and Scrutiny Committee

Overview and Scrutiny Committee monitors decisions taken by the Executive.

Audit Committee

Audit Committee meet five times a year.

Development Management Committee

Meets approximately every four weeks to decide planning applications.

Site Inspection Group

The purpose of the site visit is to enable Members to view a planning application in the local context.

Licensing Committee and Sub Committee

Meets at least once a year to determine licensing applications.

Code of Conduct Hearing Panel

Meets on an ad-hoc basis to consider complaints against District, Town and Parish Councillors.

Salcombe Harbour Board

Improving, maintaining and managing the Salcombe-Kingsbridge Estuary.

Council Tax Setting Panel

The panel meet annually in February

Devon Building Control Partnership

Two Councillors from South Hams District Council sit on this Partnership.
