Restart Grants and Ongoing Additional Restrictions Grants

We are experiencing a very high volume of applications for the new grants, this is causing some people to experience problems getting through our application forms.

If you are experiencing problems getting through an application form please try the following before contacting customer services:

Try again later; this will not affect when your grant is paid but will help reduce the high volume of traffic we are experiencing and solve most issues

Try a different browser

Try a different device, particularly if you are using a mobile or tablet device to apply.

The ARG is intended to support businesses that are severely impacted by the restrictions, and that may or may not be in the business rates system.

The government has asked for additional data to be submitted so all ongoing ARG applicants will be required to fill in a simple form.

Is my business eligible?

All eligible businesses should have applied for the ARG already, if so you just need to fill in the form below.

If you have not applied for any funding since the beginning of November, but think you may be eligible, please use our general enquiry form to contact us.

Applications submitted after 31 May will not be considered.

Please note, you will be eligible for the ARG or the restart grant, but not both.


How much will I receive?

This will depend on your rateable value, if you have one, and will range between £934 and £2000 for April


What do I need to apply?

You will need to answer a few simple questions:

  • Your reference number in the format RP/01234
  • Number of employees
  • Date business started
  • Nature of business
  • High level SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) code that describes your business sector. If you're not sure what yours is, please go to the ONS website to find it.
